PPR Games Club: Gone Home

ove is a lot of things, but rarely is it ever easy; especially when you’re a teenager. For our very first Games Club of 2014, we invite Shidoshi of EGM and The Morning Project fame to join us as we break down why Gone Home was one of the most influential games to release in 2013. We talk price, drop our opinion on just what kind of game it is, and of course; we spill into the territory of crazy theories and the possible weight they may hold to Kaitlin’s return.

Mail us at our new email Mailbag@presspauseradio.com, leave a voicemail at 469-PPR-TALK, and be sure to stop by at our Forums if you haven’t already registered and post your thoughts about the show. Finally, make sure to rate and subscribe to us on iTunes and YouTube, follow us on Twitch page and Twitter, and finally take part in our Facebook and Steam group!

Also, we sit down and play through the experience from start to finish to highlight all of the opaque allusions of the Gone Home saga, grab your favorite snack and watch with us won’t you?

Life Through The Pixel Glass-10/04/2013

ow, so this is awkward…it’s been a while since we’ve done one of these right? Yeah, well…we’re picking up our stride again. With the videos and reviews we’ve picked the pace up on, it only makes sense that we get LTTPG going again. For those who are late to the party, have horrible attention spans, or you simply despise me to the point where you tune out whatever I say on the podcast anyway; I just recently moved and though it’s been more than a month since—I’m still catching up.

Nevertheless, fear not, there’s plenty of nonsense to hit the site soon. Even though next month is going to be insane for everyone, and the wait for the new consoles to launch may even seem unbearable for the lot of us but you should just hang back and relax. We have plenty of shit to throw at you and we can all just pass the time together, this is Life Through The Pixel Glass—welcome back.

Press Pause Radio at PAX Prime 2013

t’s been a while right? Thank Bullet Heavens (yeah, we just did that) that Ser was able to lead the charge for new content on Press Pause Radio these last couple of weeks, because our extended break was a little longer than we had hoped for. Wouldn’t you know it though? The moment we are ready to come back, it just so happens that it's the week of PAX Prime 2013, so we’re going to come out and hit the streets of Seattle, and we’re hitting them hard, like…uh; hard-hitters--yeah!

We’ll be on the floor mingling with every new indie game we comes across, and expect us to do some talking with the likes of Sega, Capcom, Ubisoft, and more in the biggest PAX we’ve covered yet. We’ll be recording a catch up a podcast just to clear some air from our absence on the web, then we’ll be dropping some podcast specials with some friends and give all the scoops and scores from Friday to Monday so stay tuned on the site!

Also, if you guys have any specific requests or feedback, be sure to email us at mailbag@presspauseradio.com, and if you guys are going to be there then don't be shy -- come say hello!

GDC 2013: How DIY Indie Game Development is gaining ground

ne of the biggest issues currently facing the video games industry isn’t with the lacking of video game coverage, but rather the types of games we’re actively covering. We have numerous individuals crafting their own ideas for what they feel video games could truly be, yet we never hear enough about them.

Luckily, we see more outlets shifting focus towards more indie developers and projects, which opens entirely new realms of opportunity in the world of video gaming. One entire website, for instance, even showcases some of the best independent games currently available for download: Free Indie Games.

PPR Presents Indiedrome: Episode 3: Too Many Bundles!

his week on Indiedrome, Matt and Stevie talk about the saturation of independent game bundles that populate the web on a daily basis and how it affects the independent games market. Also, Matt shares his love of Russell Brand, Stevie shares his love of Hotline Miami, and both are bewildered at the concept of what a quote unquote “spoiler” is.

Make sure to keep a look out on iTunes as one of the first of many feeds Indiedrome will be appearing on in the near future and as always, don't forget to save your game.
