QCF: Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

hen the cut scenes first begin in Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, it seems like a cyberpunk version of the film Hot Shots! A parody of a parody seems ridiculous, right? That’s the entire point of a game like this being released: pure ridiculousness. Although larger than life, this standalone downloadable title is very small compared to the previously released Far Cry 3. Honestly though, I don't think that’s a negative at all. It’s nice that such a nostalgia-inducing experience sells for the cost of an '80s action movie that inspired it.

PPR Presents Lime Light: Ecco: Defender of The Future

ince we’re going all out, you don’t mind if we squeeze a Limelight out, I mean…it’s not like we’ve done one of those for a while, right? Well, the game in particular that we’ll be showcasing for our trademark stream is a bit obscure but it was also a majority vote among the followers of Press Pause Radio; Ecco: Defender of the Future. This was the last the game that starred the heroic dolphin of destiny and was the only three dimensional affair as well, it was kind of impressive on the Dreamcast for its day, but we’ll see how well it’s held up during the Limelight! Tune in around Saturday, May 11th, at 6:30 PM pacific time and join us in the chat on our Twitch page or settle in for the stream right here where George and Sean get down on the get down and might have a couple of brews and become one with the fishes.

PPR Presents Game Fest: League of Legends

ey y’all, the last Game Fest didn’t necessarily go according to plan considering that we chose the one night that Blacklight Retribution was getting server maintenance (we will be revisiting this one again folks, don’t fret) but we’re ready to give it another go! This time however, we’re going to be playing a game that’s been requested for us to play the most with you guys; League of Legends. Some of us are completely new and I’m sure everyone else will have fun at our expense or get annoyed…or both! Either way, Check out the stream that Toast will be hosting right here or on our Twitch if you’re not down to join and for those who are; you can prep for the event it’ll be coming together Friday, May 10th, at 7:00 PM Pacific time. QCF: Y's I & II Chronicles+

This Review was Frelanced by Johnathan Sawyer; you can find his other work here.

storm had arrived. Nothing could pass through this supposedly impenetrable "Stormwall," as it had come to be called. The land looked as though it would be seeing its final days, until a lone man with fiery-red hair washed up on the shores of Esteria... It is here in Ys I & II Chronicles+ that the saga of Adol the Red begins and puts several memorable marks into the pages of gaming history along the way.

QCF: Gears of War Judgment

lanet Sera has been victim to the constant siege of the Locust for years now, and the COG has seen better days -- or have they? What if we were taken back to the beginning? To a time where the government sovereignties was still a thing and military tribunals were held to determine the accountability and actions of a Soldier’s survival on the battlefield? For determining judgment, if you will…

Epic Games takes a backseat this go around. From the fine folks from People Can Fly comes the fourth installment that explores where it all started with the snarky Damon Baird and flamboyant Augustus Cole on the frontlines.

While the Gears of War formula has set a standard for third-person shooter-driven gameplay, it’s done little to stray from its foundation, in turn expanding upon it in every way Epic Games could with GOW3. Since the early days of PPR, I have personally endorsed the idea of a Baird/Cole centric campaign on multiple occasions, so the concept of Judgment should be just the sort of answer I’ve been clamoring for, right? People Can Fly have expressed their understanding for this like-minded sentiment among returning players, and had their work cut out for them from the very start of the endeavor. Judgment presented to justify yet another entry that could appeal both to fans and newcomers.

QCF: Black Rock Shooter: The Game

he planet Earth is almost entirely devoid of human life. What was once a thriving population consisting of billions was reduced to a mercilessly paltry 12. Hope is all but lost, and what’s left of it rides on a secret weapon: Project-BRS, the creatively titled Black Rock Shooter. Yeah, Black Rock Shooter, because she shoots black rocks, y'all. What did you expect?

The Vita struggles a little less with each passing month, and the benefit of accessing PSP games within PSN has been integral in expanding the library and overall appeal for Sony’s on-the-go game box. Taking full advantage, NIS America mines away at some of these untapped veins of PSP releases that haven’t seen light outside of the land of the rising sun, and they be on to something. While this frame of mind may seem lazy for those looking for new and optimized content for their expensive Vita, Black Rock Shooter: The Game does good to compliment the direction NIS America is taking and gives us a great portable game in its own right.

QCF: Pandora's Tower

think it's just about time to call it. The Wii has finally drawn its last meaningful breath. Unless some other game finally makes it to the system that somehow never got its day on North American Shores, this is finally the end for Nintendo's original profitable waggle-wonder. But hold on, that doesn't mean it's time to move on; as it turns out, Pandora's Tower, the final noteworthy word on the Wii, is one that definitely deserves recognition.
