PPR Presents Limelight: Scott Pilgrim EX

It may seem quaint now, but in its prime, before Fortnite and Ready Player One saturated audiences with references and cameos, Bryan Lee O'Malley was one of the first people to smash together his love of NES games, Punk Rock, and dambass shonen tropes into a single comic book series named Scott Pilgrim. It didn't take long for the books to explode in popularity, and when it eventually made it the silver-screen, it got an obligatory licensed video game that was actually way better than it had any Edgar Wright being (sorry, we had to do it.)

Now, after a decade has passed, we have a new Scott Pilgrim brawler simply titled Scott Pilgrim EX, and George is going to play the shit out of it

Man, this one has been a long time coming...

In his quest to trying to get one of the most electic RGB-quality original hardware setups video-ready for production, George has got his Amiga CD32 recapped and ready with mods that give him access to nearly the entire Amiga library, and that means he has access to all the dumbass "euroshooters" we didn't get over on this side of the pond.

One of which is the cult-classic, Apidya, from Kaiko Games; a title that embodies everything the Amiga was. While George is planning all of the neat games to stream from PAL-centric platform in the "Düo-Dusé" he's going to come out of the gate strong with this weirdo love letter to Japanese shmups!

PPR Presents Limelight: Panzer Dragoon Orta

When SEGA dug deep into their trove of properties to revisit on Microsoft’s 128-bit premiere, they went hard, and one of the big guns behind that effort was Smilebit Premiere, also known as Sega’s “AM6.” After Jet Grind Radio and Typing of the Dead, the studio set their sights on delivering action of the more “shooty” variety, with one of those games being a sequel to a cult-classic still beloved to this day, Panzer Dragoon.

George is picking right where he left off with Panzer Dragoon Orta, and there's a chance he may even roll credits as he starts the quest hot with the Boss of Stage 8! Just TWO more stages to go!

e just did out 2025 Golden Zonkies for 2025, and you know what we picked for our Game of the Year award? The incredible roguelite beat’em up from DotEmu, Guard Crush, and Supamonks, Absolum! PPR Presents Limelight: Clockwork Knight

n 1995, the SEGA Saturn debuted in the US with six, count ‘em, SIX games at launch, and two of which were brand new never before-seen games. We had the choice of either snagging the one with the friggin’ dragon in it, or we could opt for the one that looked like Japanese Toy Story.

Now we’ve already seen how far SEGA has gone with the Panzer Dragoon series, but what about Clockwork Knight? Well, George is going to going to wind it up (couldn’t resist) the CD  lens on his Saturn and give this 2.5D oddity a go on tonight’s Limelight!
