Life Through The Pixel Glass-11/30/13

hese days, more and more people seem to get more excited about the advent of Black Friday than the ACTUAL Holiday that precedes it; it’s kind of a bummer—especially since people keep getting hurt or even killed over savings. So here’s a friendly reminder, be thankful.

Showing gratitude for your way of life this holiday weekend and appreciating the small privileges you take for granted like the opportunity to read this editorial on some dumb video game website for instance, is habit that’d be healthy for all 365 days of the year but on the day of Thanks and the .

Spread it around with everyone and especially the ones that you love.

So that’s enough of that shit, let’s get on with the real meaty Sir Loin of this latest entry to Life Through The Pixel Glass; there’s so much superficially worthless cool garbage trash to get excited about you guys! Let’s go!

PPR Presents Now Showing: 10/31/2013

n our efforts to try to do cool new stuff with Press Pause Radio and make it one of the best enthusiast Video Game media podcasts and websites around, we’re introducing another feature to the sight that we’ll be updating from here on out and hopefully try to make it a weekly to bi-weekly feature.

There are tons of trailers that come out and just never enough time to check them out one by one, so every Friday, we’re going to collect some our favorites and throw them up in one post to celebration of everyone’s eyes and ears towards upcoming games.

This week is all Halloween themed so we decided to follow suit with this new feature. In this week's Now Showing, you’ll find some new footage and release date information on the sequel of the Vampire Killing reboot with Lords of Shadow 2. We also have teaser trailers of Basement Crawl, Dead Rising 3, and The Walking Dead Season 2 on board so check them out folks.

QCF: Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons

he first thing you will notice when Brothers : A tale of Two sons has loaded is how vast the environment is even though for the most part the game is fairly linear. From the rocks on the Mountain to the leaves on the Trees, to the made up language that you almost start to understand this game is hands-down gorgeous, engaging and will keep you playing until you've seen the end.

Life Through The Pixel Glass-10/04/2013

ow, so this is awkward…it’s been a while since we’ve done one of these right? Yeah, well…we’re picking up our stride again. With the videos and reviews we’ve picked the pace up on, it only makes sense that we get LTTPG going again. For those who are late to the party, have horrible attention spans, or you simply despise me to the point where you tune out whatever I say on the podcast anyway; I just recently moved and though it’s been more than a month since—I’m still catching up.

Nevertheless, fear not, there’s plenty of nonsense to hit the site soon. Even though next month is going to be insane for everyone, and the wait for the new consoles to launch may even seem unbearable for the lot of us but you should just hang back and relax. We have plenty of shit to throw at you and we can all just pass the time together, this is Life Through The Pixel Glass—welcome back.

ey guys, remember when we all played that sweet RPG on the Super Nintendo Bahumat Lagoon? No? What about Seiken Densetsu 3, you guys had to have played that right? Gyakuten Kenji 2? Everyone is killing me! Oh, wait, what’s that? You say that none of those games ever came out to North America; yeah, we know that, that’s why there’s the wonderful culture of import gaming. The charming Stevie, cynical James, pugnacious Ser, and scumbag Georgie bring you the latest PPR and this week, they talk about some video games y’all. Topics range from sharing our respects towards Hiroshi Yamauchi and Nintendo’s sordid past with love hotels, the price difference of Zebra bed sheets versus Tiger bed sheets, Super Mario Bros: The Movie 2: the comic, Sega buying Atlus, and so much more in this shit storm of a podcast.

PPR 77

ur first show since we got back from PAX, we’re still playing catch up with video games and well, life for that matter. Andrew, James, and George get together to discuss some video games like Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and Tales of Xillia, along with fake GTA V reviews, DickWolves, Mighty No. 9, and drunk white girls. The Oculus Rift steals the show topic; from theories to concepts, romanticizing the possible mass-market success of the device could radically change video games, or creep James out since he’s a big diaper-baby and all, who knows.

QCF: Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs

hen Amnesia: The Dark Descent was released in 2010, it was a breath of fresh air into an industry that had seemed to have lost its way with horror titles for a while. Its unique tension and combat free gameplay gave the player a sense of helplessness that hadn't been experienced before. Paired up with undeniably scary set pieces this created a cult indie game that took YouTube by storm. The reaction videos to this terrifying game really hit a nerve and cemented The Dark Descent as a game every horror fan should experience.

Now it's three years later and the anticipation for this sequel has grown. Teamed up with Dear Esther creators The Chinese Room, Frictional Games is presenting us a follow up with a lot of pressure on it's back. A Machine for Pigs is this title and depending on your stance on what makes gameplay engaging, you'll either be loving it or hating it. However, one thing you unfortunately won't be is scared.
