QCF: Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs

hen Amnesia: The Dark Descent was released in 2010, it was a breath of fresh air into an industry that had seemed to have lost its way with horror titles for a while. Its unique tension and combat free gameplay gave the player a sense of helplessness that hadn't been experienced before. Paired up with undeniably scary set pieces this created a cult indie game that took YouTube by storm. The reaction videos to this terrifying game really hit a nerve and cemented The Dark Descent as a game every horror fan should experience.

Now it's three years later and the anticipation for this sequel has grown. Teamed up with Dear Esther creators The Chinese Room, Frictional Games is presenting us a follow up with a lot of pressure on it's back. A Machine for Pigs is this title and depending on your stance on what makes gameplay engaging, you'll either be loving it or hating it. However, one thing you unfortunately won't be is scared.

PPR Presents Lime Light: Tempo

unny that we would be doing Lime Light on more than one 32X game year…no really, it’s actually hilarious—the opportunity to do this one was just too good to pass up. One of the exclusive titles for Sega’s Mushroom-shaped add-on is one of the reasons most Sega owners would even install the 32X, and it’s from the same people that brought us Bonk, Air Zonk, and Gungrave…We’re streaming Tempo.

Tune in around Wednesday evening, September 11th, at 5:45 PM pacific time and join us in the chat on our Twitch page, getting down with the phat beats and animation so Japanese that you’ll be shouting “Nanja korya!” at all the colors coming out of your interwebs screen.

PAX Prime 2013: Hopping into Titanfall

earing all of the critical acclaim and buzz surrounding Titanfall, I was excited to try out the new first person shooter from Respawn Entertainment. However I had several reservations, due to the fact that anytime I have looked forward to a new shooter, I jump into the multiplayer and realize that I am terrible at shooters. Seeing as how the developers of Titanfall were originally from the same team that created the Modern Warfare series of games, I assumed I would play the multiplayer, perform horribly and never play the game again. After my time with the game, however I can say that Titanfall is my most anticipated release for the next generation of systems.

PAX Prime 2013: Experiencing The Wolf Among Us

he flicker of a single neon light cuts into the darkness in front of me. We are moments away from the end of the show floor hours for PAX Prime 2013, and I am hurried into a darkened room without much explanation of what will be inside. As I struggle to find my bearings through the tight corridor, I am greeted by a welcomed sight, something I have been waiting to see the entire convention. We were lucky enough to play through the first public demo of The Wolf Among Us, the next episodic series from Telltale Games. The anticipated follow-up to the developer’s last title has been the topic of many discussions in the enthusiast press for months, and from our first look it is easy to say that it will be a worthy successor.

PAX PRIME 2013: The Nintendo Crescendo

egardless of how critical my position on Nintendo may be as of recent, my travels on the floor led me to the familiar brand. I tasked myself with getting the best out of what the Big N had to offer. So after a couple of games later, I can safely say that while my faith is still shaken, it is far from lost—Nintendo is dropping some real winners after all this Holiday.
