QCF: Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection

've always had a mild curiosity for the Idol Master Games. I enjoy titles of the Rhythm and music varieties, so I figured a game about Producing Idols would be right up my alley. While Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection not Idol Master, it is along the same premise. Producing Perfection is all about producing the Perfect Idol group to steal fame and recognition from rivals MOB48 (a horrible play on AKB48) to grab more attention for Gamindurti while taking back the lost shares taken by these other groups. Sounds pretty fun.... “Sounds” being the operative word...

QCF: Knightmare Tower

QCF: Shovel Knight

ot that it's a bad thing, but retro styled games are practically everywhere now. Both visually and gameplay wise tons of products on the indie scene are embracing gaming's origins to varying degrees. Some are parodies like Super Meat Boy or Retro City Rampage, while a smaller batch are genuine attempts at capturing the actual feel these classics gave us in the very beginning. Shovel Knight is the latter.

While many games fall short of replicating the mediums glory days, Shovel Knight does the near impossible and surpasses it. If you've been looking for a new benchmark in retro gaming then the day has finally arrived. Shovel Knight is the real (old school) deal.

QCF: Tomodachi Life

m? Oh, yeah, I'm still here. Hard to stay focused with such an interesting microcosm brewing within the confines of my 2DS though. I'll try to stay on topic, but I'm also kind of watching an epic rap battle go down between George and Daeruna here too, so...

PPR Presents Play Play: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 HD-Alpha

hile the newest Sonic game that’s currently in development may care too much about athletic tape, there’s still hope for another title that was originally hyped to be one of the prettiest remakes of the Blue blur’s most iconic venture. Yeah, that’s right, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 HD is back on track, and George takes a few minutes his day, and yours to tell y’all why you should give a shit as he plays the original Alpha build.

PPR Presents Play Play: NES Remix 1+2

intendo’s no stranger to pandering to all of the inner-children within us by tugging at our nostalgia, but in this case, we might have found an exception that does more than cater to rose-tinted fandom. Ser sits on in with George, and checks out what he’s missing on the Wii U with both, NES Remix and NES Remix 2. We check out all the nifty little tweaks and nuances, and argue over whether or not Nintendo’s still got the touch. They also get into about it Kirby games, and some other dumb shit, but that’s just the norm with them anyway.

QCF: Entwined

hether you choose to side in the camp that video games are art, or sit with the folks who think they’re too dumb to be art, there’s generally one consistent consensus that both parties can agree to; gamers from either belief can attest to playing at least one game in their life that made them feel something.

Granted, while there are few games where a majority of people can civilly agree on the game’s merit to elicit whatever emotion they felt, these game do in fact exist, and some of them share even considerably larger common ground within the gaming community than most would accurately presume; some games just have that it factor.

Entwined is such a game, one that’s entirely capable of rendering any who play it into puddle of feelings that they can’t quite explain articulately into words, but can’t deny that the presence of them either.

I’m going to try my best TO articulate these feelings, and why it’s important that Entwined brought them out of me, and became a memorable experience in the process.
