QCF: Bubble Bobble 4 Friends (Switch)

t the time of this review, many have found video games to be a way to escape the uncertainty and harshness of an ever-changing structure in society. What has surprised me, however, is how video games and sharing that passion to those that may not have had any interest in the past can take our minds off that stress and uneasiness, if even for just a little bit. I have a bit of familiarity with the protagonists of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends, mostly from the spin-off Puzzle Bobble but I did not spend too much time with the Taito titles from decades ago. This current iteration published by ININ Games does a great service to fans of those original entries while introducing the series to a new audience, myself and various members of my family included. Although there are some features and additions to the gameplay that are lacking, I am glad that this title and the cooperative nature it promotes is available to enjoy while we adjust to finding entertainment in the comfort of our homes.

QCF: Super Smash Bros for 3DS

hen a name becomes more and more distinguished over time like Super Smash Bros has, the occasional fumble or two can easily be overlooked, like it never even happened at all; and at the Chagrin of Super Smash Bros Brawl, the expectations for the latest sequels to bear the Smash name have never been higher.

While the 3DS version out of the pair of new games, has quickly gotten the label of being the B-choice release, the experience it has to offer is by no means the case. Everything that’s been jam packed into this port is very much faithful to those very same lofty expectations I mentioned earlier, and dare I say, Super Smash Bros for 3DS went on even further to surpass them.

Pax Prime 2012: Cards Against Humanity Review

There’s a good chance you’ve heard friends speak wonders about party card games like Apples to
Apples, and they eventually sat you down to play some rounds. Funny game, right? I mean, seriously –
what’s more hilarious than someone playing the “my life” card with a descriptor card like “disaster”?

Well forget everything you know, because the creators of Cards Against Humanity have ensured that
being utterly disgusted at yourself and everyone around you is much more entertaining. Sure, tame
scenarios like describing “Hooligans” as “Unscrupulous” are satisfying (maybe), but why play it safe
when you can say old people smell like “half-assed foreplay” instead?
