PPR Presents Play Play: Yoshi's Wooly World

lanket out of ten, would blanket again; Nintendo and Good-Feel have dropped an adorable, yarny-ass, yarn take on T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas called Yoshi’s Wooly World, and it’s another one of his cute skirmishes with Baby Bowser.

This game is just too fun to look at.

Ser and George gather round to talk about the yarn dynamics and their role within the game design arc of Yoshi side-scrolling game, along with other features like the Amiibo features, and more.

Who’re we kidding, it’s just a twenty minute video or so of two grown men gushing over how friggin’ kawai Yoshi and his hijinks is; enjoy!

PPR Presents Play Play: Downwell

arlier this year at the IGF pavilion booth during GDC 15, George was able to play an assortment of the indie nominations that were showcased to the attendees before the big award show, and he just couldn’t shut up about one in particular.

It was just “Aww man DOWNWELL” this, and “Dude, DOWNWELL” that; it really struck a chord with him. Now that it’s out on iOS and Steam, he just had to do a Play Play of it, and here it is, all by his lonesome because we’ve already heard enough of it.

I’m sure you guy will enjoy though! Check out Downwell right here!

PPR Presents Extra Life 2015: Chrono Trigger

t’s that time of year again, and as we gradually approach the holidays, it’s important to remember that this season isn’t easy for everyone, especially children with health issues. So, with that said, Press Pause Radio is proud to be part of the annual Extra Life charity event for 2014.

We’re on a mission to lend our voices and minds to help the children in this year’s Extra Life Charity, and we need you. By tuning in, and watching us stream one of the most classic RPG’s of all time, Chrono Trigger on the SNES, for 24 hours straight. We humbly ask for your donation towards the Children's Hospital of Central California.

On November 7th, 2015, Press Pause Radio will be participating in this huge worldwide celebration of the social impact of gamers of all kinds from video games to board games and tabletop RPG's!

So here’s how you can help. Watch the stream here or on our Twitch page, and then visit us here on Extra Life and donate anything you can for the kids—your donation is tax-deductible and ALL PROCEEDS go to help kids, so help us get there folks. The more you donate, the more leverage you get for any stupid, dumb, (but reasonable) you might have for George to do in, or out of Chrono Trigger, for 24 hours. Again, any help that you’re willing to donate is greatly appreciated, and will all go to a great cause! Thank you, get started on donating and catch us here on Nov. 7th!

Bullet Heaven HD, Episode 139 - Mushihimesama

n episode 79 of Bullet Heaven HD, we took a look at the Xbox 360's Mushihimesama Futari, an awesome region free shmup from Cave. With the original Mushihimesama seeing its first home release on the Playstation 2 and an HD remaster produced for Xbox 360 in 2012, none of them would be region-free... until now!

PPR 97

ey guys, it’s been a while, miss us? Because gorgeous ghosts, did we sure miss you all! We’re back, and hopefully now on a more regular recording schedule, so make sure you guys keep an eye on your feeds and subscriptions for the newest episodes to come out more often.

On that note, this episode was supposed to be about our most anticipated Holiday releases, but we got so wrapped with the volume of games we’ve been playing, and the catching up between us all that we just didn’t have the time to get into it—maybe next year.

Until then we talk Overkill and Payday 2, PS Vita, Steam Controller, Super Mario Maker, about McDonald’s being gross, The Taken King, Halo 5, Transformers: Devastation, John Cena’s theme song, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, Guitar Hero Live, Rock Band 4, and so much more.

Enjoy the show, and keep a look out for more reviews coming this way, and details about our Extra Life stream!

Mail us at our new email Mailbag@presspauseradio.com, leave a voicemail at 469-PPR-TALK, and be sure to stop by at our Forums if you haven’t already registered and post your thoughts about the show. QCF: WWE2K16

s the months go by, I’m learning more and more that I’m not the only one who’s found an interest in professional wrestling again, as I see more and more of my friends and associates hop on board with the craze, keeping tabs on their favorite performers and their status quos, and so on.

The WWE and 2K are well aware of the trending popularity that Sports Entertainment has been receiving, and as such, have taken measures to capitalize on both the newfound fame it’s seeing, and the effervescent nostalgia for one of wrestling’s most iconic figures, Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Enter the latest entry into the brand’s game franchise, WWE2K16; a sequel that hopes to correct last the significant misstep that was last year’s title into the series—and well, it tries, I’ll give it that…

I can safely say that WWE2K16 is better than WWE2K15—marginally though, only, marginally.

QCF: Everybody's Gone To The Rapture

s the scene fades in, you stumble out into the tranquil beauty of the Yaughton countryside in Shropshire, England—investigating the irony of an environment that’s devoid of all human life, and yet breaming with the vibrancy of nature itself is the only thing that keep the unsettling tone from escalating into anything that.

This is the landscape of The Chinese Room’s latest adventure game, Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture, a disorienting mystery behind the disappearance of an entire village, and the grisly clues that have been left behind—it’s an experience that will leave you thinking, and somewhat shaken.

From the people behind the atmospheric voyage of Dear Esther, the independent studio places a different spin on the apocalypse concept that no other title has slowed down enough to explore in great detail—the human condition.
