Whether you’re a fan or not, you have to give Nintendo some well deserved credit for remaining such a hot topic after 25 years. In the early days, it was all about lawsuits against competing companies like Atari, and struggling to make innovative creations that would carry them to the top. Today it’s all about making sure those devices remain popular while loyal fans stay satisfied -- or so we thought.

Many of Nintendo supporters aren’t getting what they want, and Nintendo’s latest console isn’t doing extremely well. Given the facts, we arrive at two highly significant topics that recently dominated headlines: Operation Rainfall and the 3DS already getting a hefty price slash.

Never Forget San d'Oria: Hiromichi hints towards FFXI on the Vita

Recently, Hiromichi Tanak (Final Fantasy XI's former lead designer and producer of Final Fantasy XIV) informed Famitsu that Square Enix is considering making the PS Vita the next platform for its long running MMORPG, Final Fantasy XI. Initially, I was very happy to hear this news; I have been a sporadic player of the ongoing online adventure for years and a handheld alternative seemed like the perfect fit. However the more I daydream about this match made in Heaven, I am starting to realize that it is really a terrible accident just waiting to happen.

Bullet Heaven HD, Episode 37 - Game Tengoku: The Game Paradise

In the 90's parody shooters were the hot new thing that every company that made shooters had to get on the bandwagon with. Starting with the legendary Parodius, several parody shooters sprung up and saw release mostly in Japan. Jaleco also joined in the fun with Game Tengoku: The Game Paradise in 1995, though all of the properties used were ancient, even at release; the newest game that elements were used from was six years old by the time Game Tengoku reached arcades, and all but one of the original games stayed (officially) in Japan exclusively. It would later be ported to the Sega Saturn in 1997. Is Game Tengoku worth a look after all...?

From the ashes of boxes, moving vans and heavy appliances rises the newest episode of Press Pause Radio. It is also the first show back from our vacation, and it certainly does feel good to be back. On this week's episode we will be discussing the twentieth anniversary of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and all the fond memories that surround the gray and purple wonder. Today's shmup king is the Xbox 360, no matter where you live in the world. The fairly recent Strania: The Stella Machina by G.Rev can be had for just 800 MS Points, and offers North America another modern shooter with interesting gameplay. Is Strania the next great downloadable shmup, or a weak pea-shooter thrown to the masses?

Quarter Circle Forward Review: Ms. Splosion Man

In the beginning there was man, or woman I’m not really sure…The point I’m trying to make is that within the homo sapien race exist two genders, and Twisted Pixel has given it’s exploding hero a counter-part of the fairer sex to star in very own video game. Ms. Splosion Man may take its inspiration from the concept of Ms. Pac-man but I can assure you this is not 'Splosion Man with a bow-tie and I’ll start off by explaining why.
