Examining Nintendo 3DS Launch Titles

Nintendo had recently announced the games (and prices) to be released during the initial launch of the revolutionary 3DS. Three of them are Nintendo-published titles, with the remaining 13 being offered by third party developers. So how does this launch seem to stack up, especially when compared to previous handheld launches?

NFSD: Introduction & Auction Houses

Hey Everyone, sorry for the ricochet-affect that's been going on with us, with us getting ready for Penny-Arcade Expo East & preparing its been a bit of a chore to get a handle onto everything. I did want to take the time to introduce a brand new feature to PPR though that will be explored more thoroughly as it's something that is always mentioned but has never been completely fleshed out. Final Fantasy XI is a game that as we have gone into detail, is more than a game & more of an experience. Hence from this point forward, I will be venturing back into Vana'diel this month & will continue my quest as the  Elvaan GeorgieBoysAXE & I will actually take the opportunity to grow into a legendary adventurer & this feature will chronicle my time in the land of Vana'diel.

Looking Back - Revisiting Nintendo Handhelds

Nintendo has dominated the world of portable gaming for decades, innovating and revolutionizing how we play on the go. Through it all, the company's vision for a handheld console has transformed from a device used only in cars, waiting rooms and airplanes, to something gamers can compare to other major home consoles on the market. Since the days of opening our first Game & Watch favorites and playing them on the go, Nintendo continues to deliver some of the most unforgettable moments of portable joy.

R.I.P. HU Bee...or is it?

Recently revealed within his personal Tumblr blog post, Morgan Haro has announced the end of Hudson Soft's American branch Hudson Entertainment. The blog post was fueled with what could be interpreted as the most professional contempt for both the circumstances that surrounded the situation & for those who he felt were responsible for said circumstances. He has recently taken down the blog post but it details how felt the business practice of communication among Hudson Entertainment & Hudson Soft & the saturation of shallow releases or sequels referencing Deca Sports as an example. Konami has already owned part of Hudson as a subsidiary but as of the first of April will fully own Hudson Soft. Upcoming releases like Bonk: Brink of extinction hangs in the balance of what Konami decides is best after Hudson Soft's Big Boss Michihiro Ishizuka officially steps down & Konami initiates full control. Konami has already stated that they intend to implement the acquired assets & talent of Hudson Soft in their Social networking & mobile division, but the fate of the studio with it's 500 employee has yet to be announced.

That Was Irritating.

What irritates a gamer more than anything? An unplayable release with bad physics, or the production of a title lacking any sort of demographics research? Regardless of the obvious annoyances, gamers as a crowd (including myself) can be a pretty picky bunch. We're always looking forward to the next big thing that hopefully doesn't transform into an overly hyped disaster, or collectively deciding whether or not a certain story checks out for other titles in question. We've seen it all and endured many great challenges, some cases which might involve just getting past a questionable intro.

Bullet Heaven Episode S207 - U.N. Squadron

It takes an awful lot to become one of my favorite games of all time. U.N. Squadron (a.k.a Area 88) for the Super NES was one of the cornerstones of my 16-Bit gaming life and even before I had anywhere near a decent interest in Shmups, this one was still one of my favorites. Does it hold up today?

This has easily been my favorite Bullet Heaven episodes to produce to date! Did you like what you saw here today? Questions, Comments and Suggestions are not only welcome, but encouraged!
