PPR 140

t’s pretty wild to see how many Video Game properties have been adapted for viewing over playing the last year or so. As James Marsden and Company ride the Box Office Success of “Rachel Adventure” (or Sonic The Hedgehog 2 for you Layman’s out there) we here at Press Pause Radio have been getting utterly swamped with our collective pile of games to play, and when we mean collective pile of games, we mainly mean whatever we can squeeze in between sessions of Elden Ring and Tunic.

While Elden Ring and Tunic DID command a lot of the conversation in this episode—George, Sean, and Andrew still had plenty of other games and news to talk about. In this episode of Press Pause Radio, we discussed the 2022 cancellation of E3Animal Crossing New Horizons, Fish Plays Twitch, that thing that happened at the Oscars (sigh), Exile “Un-Worked Designs” HackSuper Mario SunburnMiner 2049erNORCOMontezuma’s RevengePac-ManKirby & The Forgotten LandGhostwire Tokyo, and so much more!

PPR Presents Play Play: PAC-MAN 256

hether it’s some bratty millennial, or a crotchety-ass geriatric, there are a few things within pop culture that these two wildly different demographics will often times share knowledge of—they’re both aware of a particular yellow humanoid sphere with an insatiable appetite.

PAC-MAN has been a staple in video games since it first hit the arcades all those years ago, and if the new title from Hipster Whale, PAC-MAN 256, is any indication of the famous circle’s current status-quo, then he’s rest assured to continue as a staple into the future of gaming.

Ser and Georgie whip out their smartphones, and show off the new title, and it’s modernized spin on a very familiar formula, and talk about why it’s one of the coolest surprises to come out of 2015.

Life Through The Pixel Glass-02/20/2014

id everyone enjoy his or her V-day celebration? Or was it all just a straight lonely hearts club of farts for you? Well, everyone can rejoice either that it’s all over now, no more tears or upset stomachs filled with powdery garbage chalk hearts, it’s back to the basics and the really important question out of everyone’s mouth— who got in on that Titanfall Beta? It’s pretty nifty right? Well, I’ll share some words on that at some point, but now’s a better time more than ever to give you all another Life Through The Pixel Glass to cleanse the palate before we share some thoughts on the Microsoft’s exclusive Hype-Train.

Short Films Offer New Dimensions in Gaming Tributes

n the past few years we’ve seen plenty of artists and moviemakers recreate their favorite video games in the form of smaller YouTube segments. For fans and by fans, we’ve witnessed everything from Chell’s life after Aperture to an unfortunate reality for Mario.

These videos only become more sophisticated as time passes. More independent studios look for ways to portray their favorite games and add more lifelike effects to them. And though some become more exaggerated or overly ambitious in the process, we've still experienced some amazing productions.

On that note, the following segments represent what’s truly becoming a culture of its own.
