QCF: Colors! 3D (App)

Nobody can deny how Mario Paint (or something like it) would have been an excellent addition to any Nintendo DS unit. Unfortunately, like many other concepts fueled by wishful thinking, it never happened.

Collecting Smiles, however, created the killer painting app we didn’t even know we wanted. Not only does Colors! 3D allow 3DS owners to (finally) doodle like crazy using touch screen controls, but offers legitimately talented artists an excellent avenue to create and display literal works of art.

PPR at PAX East 2012 Special

It has been a few days since Team PPR has returned from PAX East 2012 and we have complied several recordings we made throughout the weekend for you to enjoy. The first half of the show we were able to trick Shawn Andrich and Cory Banks from Gamers With Jobs to record with George and Catie, as well as our good friend Derek Lavigne. In that first segment the group discussed sleeping in train stations, how PPR killed The Couchbound Network (probably) and all the games that we saw and played at PAX East. The second segment is the entire team that attended the convention conversing over the content that was posted on the site over the three day event, as well as some of the controversy surrounding the Mass Effect 3 panel and other happenings on the show floor. It was our absolute pleasure to cover PAX East 2012, and we are grateful for everyone that followed the site and that we had the pleasure to meet in person. Thank you for a great show, and we cannot wait to do it again at the next PAX!

PAX East 2012: Double Dragon: Neon: Hands-On Preview

On the mean streets of urban ghetto, we find the sultry but innocent blonde by the name of Marion, who runs afoul with the wrong people and gets one swift punch to the gut for her troubles. Bursting on the scene are Billy and Jimmy Lee, ready to exact their vengeance in the name of justice against any two bit hood or flunky that stands in their way. WayForward strikes the scene again as a contracted developer for the renowned beat ‘em series with Double Dragon: Neon. Catie and I took the time to punch continually to the right and high fived every step of the way in our Hands on preview play.

PAX East 2012: Max Payne 3: Hands-on Preview

Pinned down behind a bar booth, Max counts his odds against a desperate gunfight with the mob in a rundown billiard hall. Max starts to feel the ache in age as his partner Raul runs to take cover to the right, preparing to lob bullets into their attackers. The Max Payne series, seemingly forgotten since 2003, has resurfaced this generation with Max Payne 3, and waits to be released on May 15. Right now, however, it is currently playable to all in attendance at PAX East 2012. I decided to stop by and see what the fuss was all about.
