PPR Games Club: The Last of Us Part II

ere at Press Pause Radio, we make it a point to ask the hard-hitting questions that no one else will, like if there were only 3 food trucks in the world, and they were operated by the Seraphites, Washington Liberation Front, or the Fireflies, which one would risk life-and-limb to eat burritos from?

It’s been over four years since we’ve done a Games Club episode on the cast, which has honestly been four years too long; Naughty Dog has finally released the epic sequel to their 2013 masterpiece, The Last of Us Part II, and it was an experience that was begging for a Games Club to be done.

The conversation at hand is no easy one to be had though, so we invited our friends Liana and Matt Ruppert of Don’t Feed the Gamers and Prima Games to join the episode as we talk about what we bare it all on this emotional roller coaster of a game.

Mail us at our new email Mailbag@presspauseradio.com, leave a voicemail at 469-PPR-TALK, and be sure to stop by at our Forums if you haven’t already registered and post your thoughts about the show. PPR Presents The Golden Zonkies 2013

nother year, another list of games standing mighty and tall among the crop of titles released in 2013; Join us for another edition of Press Pause Radio’s annual Golden Zonkey Awards!

We’ve nominated everything from games to events that saw the light of day in 2013 across sixteen different categories, and we have that very list for you here now. We’ll be going down the prestigious catalog of choices from start to finish on the podcast with each of voicing our vote for the winner of it’s respective title. The only stipulation in the Golden Zonkies is that any point, a wild card can be suggested by one of the hosts if majority vote dictates that another nomination is more deserving of the award instead of the choices presently casted.

If you’ve got an issue with the Golden Zonkies and how it was conducted then just remember the only other rule; it’s our God Damn show and opinion anyway, so keep that in mind when you send us whatever discourse you have with our decisions after the show by doing the following:

PAX East 2013: The Last of Us--Hands-on gameplay

ay is a little over a month away, and after everything that we’ve seen out of the month of March so far. The gradual end of the current video game generation has already been treated to a last hurrah that won't be topped for years to come. However, there’s one particular title that’s around the corner; The Last of Us.

This is Naughty Dog’s cinematic take on a post-apocalyptic world and its odd couple, Joel and Ellie. The epic survival adventure has been discussed for awhile, and with only cinematic sequences and controlled demonstrations to fuel anticipation, I had the opportunity to get a hands-on play session. From what I was able to play so far, this title should ignite a resolution in video game standards for years to come.
