here are some events that we’ve come expect with the certainty of a season change. Whether it’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Super Bowl, or The Oscars—these annual institutions have operated for most of our natural-born lives, and won’t go anywhere anytime soon. The Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3 for short, used to be one of those long-standing institutions, but has recently seen come rough days the couple of years, and has decidedly skipped out on 2023 altogether.

While writing has been on the wall, the language that E3’s parent company, ESA, has used over the future of the showcase is a little too ambiguous for comfort, and it’s likely that we may not see the event come back in the near future, or ever. Despite it going out with more of a whimper than a bang, there have been a ton of memorable years in Video Gaming where the event hosted some truly historical announcements, cementing moments that still occupy our headspaces to this very day, and we’re going to spend this episode talking about that, and so much more.

Join Andrew and George as they take you on a Post-Mortem of what George called the “Met Gala” of the Video Games Industry as they discuss the up’s and down’s of the yearly trade-show, and all of the notable footnotes it’s had in its run, bizarre pageantry and all.

t’s pretty wild to see how many Video Game properties have been adapted for viewing over playing the last year or so. As James Marsden and Company ride the Box Office Success of “Rachel Adventure” (or Sonic The Hedgehog 2 for you Layman’s out there) we here at Press Pause Radio have been getting utterly swamped with our collective pile of games to play, and when we mean collective pile of games, we mainly mean whatever we can squeeze in between sessions of Elden Ring and Tunic.

While Elden Ring and Tunic DID command a lot of the conversation in this episode—George, Sean, and Andrew still had plenty of other games and news to talk about. In this episode of Press Pause Radio, we discussed the 2022 cancellation of E3Animal Crossing New Horizons, Fish Plays Twitch, that thing that happened at the Oscars (sigh), Exile “Un-Worked Designs” HackSuper Mario SunburnMiner 2049erNORCOMontezuma’s RevengePac-ManKirby & The Forgotten LandGhostwire Tokyo, and so much more!

ell, against many odds, E3 came and managed to show off what’s in store for the next-generation of video games while contending with the ongoing challenges of a pandemic that’s still wreaking havoc on our everyday lives.

While it’s easy to dismiss what may have arguably been one of the more humble presentations we’ve had in years, especially with it being the first year of new Next-Generation hardware, the fact  that we got as much as we did with Covid-19 being a present danger is a blessing in and of itself.  Anyway, if there was one thing, this E3 did have a ton of; it was chock loaded with C H A O S.

Anyway, we here at Press Pause Radio got together to record our impressions of the show and see which of our predictions came true as we broke down most of the presentations by order of appearance of the week to discuss a number of the games that were shown. The games we showed off were Strangers of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, Rainbow Six Extraction, Forza Horizons 5, Breath of the Wild 2, Metal Slug Tactics, Lake, Spirit Swap, Mushihimesama for Switch, Metroid Dread, Warioware Get it Together, Elden Ring, Starfield, Halo Infinite, and so much more.

Sit back, download the show, and get ready to blame Chaos for everything bad that has ever happened, like ever.

t’s nice to feel like 2021 is on the road to normal, but the trip there is still a long haul—which means we’ll be looking at another digital-only E3 presentation as we continue to shelter-in-place. With one more week to go before everything officially gets underway, we here at Press Pause Radio decided to get into the speculation game with some good ol’ fashioned E3 2021 predictions!

Join George, Ed, Andrew, and Sean as they cover their obligatory thoughts towards the rumored Nintendo Switch Pro, Starfield, Elden Ring, Metroid Prime 4 Breath of the Wild 2, and what kind of game Final Fantasy XVI may end up being, if it’s even shown, and a ton off more gesticulation over the games that they KNOW will be there.

So be sure to check the batteries in your CO2 Detectors and Smoke Alarms then go download the new episode and roll around in the scuttlebutt with us!

ow that E3 2019 has come and gone, it's time to see just how close our predictions were for the thing—spoilers, we were way fucking off this year.

Nonetheless, we breakdown everything from EA’s bafflingly underwhelming appearance there, to the sweet surprises that Nintendo, Microsoft, and shockingly Konami brought with them to the conference this year. Oh yeah, and we can’t help but contemplate if Todd Howard is a full-on masochist after gritting his teeth through all of those smiles on stage he had to display on what almost seemed like a showcase of damage control for Bethesda this year.

We also breakdown our thoughts on everyone getting into the Streaming game as Andrew reveals his interest in the Stadia, George calls out the haters on the wasted energy that’s thrown at Epic Store exclusives, and Ser can’t stop drooling over the reveal of the TurboGrafx16 Mini. We’ve got another full show on our hands this year, y’all should give it a listen!

019 sure is weird—we all knew that E3’s role in the industry has been dwindling by the year, but I don’t think any of us would have imagined how different the content was going to be now that both Sony, and Nintendo have bowed out of the expo this year.

Still, there’s plenty of scuttlebutt to get excited for, & we’ve got some predictions/news here in this episode for you guys to get excited over. While some of those rumors have already been confirmed during the production of this episode, there are plenty of other bits to discuss, like a new DarkStalkers, some Stadia exclusives, a Switch hardware revision, some proper Nintendo VR, additional details on the new Playdate console unveiled in late May, and so much more.

Join us as we take the chance to talk about E3 predictions, Canada’s exclusive television and cuisine, and many other details here in the latest episode of Press Pause Radio!

et it be known that in this episode, George admits that Ninja Theory is alright. I just wanted to make sure everyone knows that before we get into anything else. In this episode of Press Pause Radio, our crew discusses all the news and information from the month of November, such as the passing of Stan Lee, the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Detective Pikachu. The group also finds out about the difference between vacation and holiday according to Peppa Pig before going into our featured topic which is the state of E3. With more and more companies leaving to put on their own showcase, does the gaming industry need something like the Electronic Entertainment Expo? We weigh in on this topic and much more. Please let us know what you think about E3 and what we can expect from the industry next year. We appreciate everyone taking the time to check out the show and encourage you all to stay tuned for more!

ey everyone! It's chaboi, Toast welcoming you to the latest offering from Press Pause Radio. On this special episode the usual crew of Georgie, Ser, and I discuss the ups and downs of this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo. So pull up a seat and ponder why all the new games are coming out in February now as we dive in to PPR episode 111!!!

E3 this year was a showcase of the most anticipated titles to release in the coming year as well as some notable surprises. Our humble ensemble will highlight many of these announcements as well as some controversies surrounding inclusion in games as well as compensation of artistic works featured in upcoming titles. We can’t for the life of us understand why there were so many haters out there wer squabbling their hearts out in Internet-land about the lack of new IP’s and surprises this year’s show—why complain about quantity when you’re being promised quality?

And of course our trio of talented temperamental top guns will go off the rails, and talk about Battletoads difficulty and variations of ketchup. I still am firmly against ketchup on eggs and pretty much everything else. Don't put ketchup on other foods man, it's gross. Please and thank you.
