After massive Games Clubs and special event shows such as PAX East and GDC, Press Pause Radio finally returns to normal with Episode 57. On the show this week the group discusses several games that have been reviewed recently such as Fez, The Witcher 2 and Bloodforge. We also speak at great lengths about the Illuminati and Korean Robocop; we tend to go off the rails often. The featured topic is about game endings. How important is the ending to the overall experience of the game? Also which games have done game endings right, and oh so terribly wrong? Listen and find out, and don't forget to join in the discussion and tell us your favorite game endings.

<itunes:explicit>yes</itunes:explicit>

PPR Games Club: The Mass Effect Trilogy

Press Pause Radio has returned from their PAX experience with an all new super sized Games Club, this time discussing the entirety of the Mass Effect trilogy. BioWare has created a space opera like no other in video game history, masterfully weaving together decisions and characters from each title to create a unique story and experience for the gamer to control.
It has been a few days since Team PPR has returned from PAX East 2012 and we have complied several recordings we made throughout the weekend for you to enjoy. The first half of the show we were able to trick Shawn Andrich and Cory Banks from Gamers With Jobs to record with George and Catie, as well as our good friend Derek Lavigne. In that first segment the group discussed sleeping in train stations, how PPR killed The Couchbound Network (probably) and all the games that we saw and played at PAX East. The second segment is the entire team that attended the convention conversing over the content that was posted on the site over the three day event, as well as some of the controversy surrounding the Mass Effect 3 panel and other happenings on the show floor. It was our absolute pleasure to cover PAX East 2012, and we are grateful for everyone that followed the site and that we had the pleasure to meet in person. Thank you for a great show, and we cannot wait to do it again at the next PAX!

<itunes:explicit>yes</itunes:explicit>

PPR at PAX East 2012: The Prologue

PAX East 2012 is slowly creeping up on us, and Press Pause Radio will be there in full force ready to cover the event and all the games that will be showcased on the convention floor. Sit down for what is probalby the shortest episode of PPR in it's history as we discuss what the site will be covering and preparing for the event, and what you can expect from us in our second trip to Boston. George was unable to join us on the recording, but will be at PAX East next week, so expect alot of ranting and possible Ballsrog cosplay from everyone's lovable scumbag (His words, not mine). We hope to see you in Boston, but if you are unable to attend make sure to keep an eye on the site as we deliver all the sites and sounds from PAX directly to your internet machine of choice. Thanks everyone as we will see you at PAX!

PPR At GDC 12

On this very special episode of Press Pause Radio, we cover all the sites and sounds from GDC 2012. GeorgieBoysAXE returns from his first (possibly last) visit to the Game Developers Conference and describes his adventures to us all. The second half of the episode is exclusive interviews with developers on the show floor, as they discuss some of the best games set to release this year. Please enjoy this very special episode, and come right back in a few weeks as we gear up to invade Boston for PAX East 2012.
Wow, we completely cut out news on this super-sized episode of Press Pause Radio, and we still went for three hours. THREE HOURS! How is it possible that we could ramble on and on for such a long time? It's because we all love arcades and are avid fans/collectors of arcade machines. On this episode the entire crew reflect on arcades of the past, and dream of a possible future where arcades may one day return. We will also discuss some of the newest games that have released, and nerd out for the release of Mass Effect 3. Feel free to join us on this ride on the pixelated superhighway, and don't forget to rate and review us on iTunes, Zune and now Stitcher Radio.
On this episode of Press Pause Radio we hold hands and venture through the great unknown, as we discuss the history and relevance of strategy guides and walkthroughs.
On this very special episode of Press Pause Radio, we talk about the dangers of video game addiction. What happens when one more game or one more level spirals out of control and destroys relationships, jobs and other activities out of the virtual world? The crew will discuss this topic and more with the most responsible and well-adjusted person they know, the one and only Ballsrog. The gang-star of video games sits in on this episode and raps with the group about Skyrim, Mass Effect and how fat and stupid Dustin is. I believe that we are all in agreement on the last point, especially Toast.
Press Pause Radio has survived another holiday filled with crazy mobs of shoppers and an insane amount of game releases to give you an early gift, that we like to call Episode 51. The crew welcomes back Matt Jay from Snackbar Games as they attempt to go through another long list of What's In Your Console, including The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Assassin's Creed: Revelations and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim just to name a few. The group then discuss the advent, rise and potentially harmful future of downloadable content. Does DLC extend the experience of games that we have already conquered? Or is DLC just a way for developers to make more money and fix problems that should have been taken care of before the game has shipped? We will tackles these questions and more, just like shoppers tackle each other at Wal-Mart.
We've done it. We somehow survived and reached episode 50 of Press Pause Radio. And to celebrate we are returning with a three hour long show, as well as our first show with Couchbound Network. With so many games being released in the last few months, we spend the majority of the show discussing all of them. Ser, Sean, GeorgieBoysAXE and Toast will converse about titles such as Batman: Arkham City, Battlefield 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Uncharted 3. The crew then debate on what makes a "Triple A" title, and if there have been too many blockbuster titles this year. Reaching fifty episodes is a great milestone for the website, and we are so happy to have shared it with you all.
On this very spooky episode of Press Pause Radio we overcome sickness and legitimate fear to discuss a classic in the survival horror genre, Fatal Frame. GeorgieboysAXE and Toast are joined by James Mielke, a personal hero to many on the show and a man who is so familiar with the Fatal Frame series, he even plays a small role in it's sequel. We will discuss the game in it's entirety, as well as discuss other conventions of the survival horror genre. This episode was a milestone for many of us here at Press Pause Radio, and we hope that you will enjoy it as well.

<itunes:explicit>yes</itunes:explicit>

PPR 49

The newest episode of Press Pause Radio has landed on Earth, like Kal-El when he was rocketed from Krypton. And like Superman's alter ego Clark Kent, this episode is going to be extremely nerdy. This week we are discussing the flawed past, and hopeful future of super hero video games. The crew weighs in on what works, what does not work and which characters should be in their own game. Feel free to make your voice heard on our various social sites, or at our forums and nerd out with us. Please continue to rate and review us on iTunes and Zune so we can be downloaded faster than a speeding bullet. Thanks and enjoy!

So hopefully everyone knows how our Games Club works by now. We play through a game, and discuss it on the show along with your comments. However this time we are switching things up, by playing not one but two games. The recently released Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection on PS3 gives us the perfect opportunity to discuss some of the finest games ever released on the Playstation 2, now remastered in HD for the Playstation 3. So whether you are playing the original or the re-released version, we will discuss both in great detail. This week's show is Side A, where we discuss Ico. Please remember that this is a Games Club, and the entire game will be discussed. So play along and enjoy the show, and continue to play Shadow of the Colossus which will be recorded soon for next week's show.

<itunes:explicit>yes</itunes:explicit>

PPR 48

Press Pause Radio escapes the limbo of corrupted audio files and damaged computers to deliver the newest episode of PPR! Along for the ride is our newest member to the team Dan, the man with possibly five or more nicknames. One of our good friends Matt, Patriot1030 from the WOFR Gaming Network also is able to join us at the last minute to complete the roundtable discussion. On this week's episode we discuss news and information from the Tokyo Game Show, including the Vita and Final Fantasy remakes. Our Featured Topic is a lively discussion about game pricing and the used video game market. This often heated debate gets turned up a few degrees as we explore all areas of the topic. Thank you to everyone for listening to the show, and for helping us reach over 200 fans on Facebook!
This episode of Press Pause Radio is brought to you by the one and only SeanDod, as well as his mustache.
Press Pause Radio does not condone or reccommend that any of our listeners let a PPR cast member babysit your kids. Episode 46 not only proves this, but also alienates fans of any age. This week will will touch on recent news from Gamescom as well as welcome a few friends to the show. We welcome the former host of Pixel Dreams Drew to the show, a long time friend and supporter of the show. Another great supporter of the show, Dan also joins us and brings some sanity to the recording.

<itunes:explicit>yes</itunes:explicit>

PPR 45

<itunes:explicit>yes</itunes:explicit>

PPR 44

<itunes:explicit>yes</itunes:explicit>

PPR 43

Press Pause Radio returns to the digital airwaves with a very special episode. This week we will take a step back from our normal format to discuss the recent anniversaries of the Nintendo Entertainment System as well as the Sony Playstation 2. Our first segment features GeorgieBoysAXE and Toast sitting down with Pokemon Podcast's own @Catiemari to reflect on all the whimsy and warm childhood memories of the NES.

The second segment switches up the lineup as the crew welcomes back @MrMattJay from Dualshockers as they converse about the big brick that could, the Playstation 2.

<enclosure url="http://www.presspauseradio.com/storage/podcasts/episodes/PPR_37.mp3" type="audio/mpeg" This title really does present itself as a combination of the best aspects of previous Mario titles. The art style and innovation of Super Mario World, mixed in with the levels and enemies reminiscent of Super Mario Bros. 3 and a side of New Super Mario Bros DS.
