Today I would like to review two cool game apps on the iphone. I will review taiko no tatsujin from the japan app store and galaga remix. Both games cost $2.99 I am not comparing the two because they are both totally

different games.

Now taiko no tatsujin is one of the greatest rhythm games you can ever find for your system. Im a big fan and always enjoy playing the game the only one I didn’t enjoy as much was the American version of taiko drum master. But that’s besides the point now on the iphone I was lucky I found it. And when I did find it I had to have it. First of all to unlock all the difficulties you need to beat every song one by one and then you can move onto medium then when you beat medium you can move to hard mode and so on. The only bad thing about this game is that there is only 10 songs and that it so not too hard to beat this game. One of my favorite song on here and also a very difficult one is the neon genesis evangelion theme song the I think its called the cruel angels thesis. The rest of the songs are common japan favorites some jpop and some video game music . Another thing I enjoy about this is that there is a way to post and share your high score online through twitter but the game Is still all in Japanese but the game play is simple and same as the ds version. And lots of fun also 2.99 is a fair price for this game Taiko Ten songs only and no dlc but you can twitter your high score

And now for galaga remix this app is also $2.99 and I think a great buy for those who are fans of the original. In this copy of the game they have made a hd version and a original and both keeping the original sounds effects and music . you cant really button mash but its ok.you can play the game horizontal or vertical. This game is also available as a free demo so if you are unsure if you want to buy this for $2.99. But I do believe that this is a good buy for that retro gamer or that classic game collector. Some one told me about the triple ship but Im not that skilled to do that stuff.Very fun game to have on iphone must have.

So we've been quite behind with everything we've been wanting to do & update with the site so I figured I would catch things up on our Myspace & 1up sites with all of the Top 5's & QCF's that have been working on, we're currently on episode sixteen & we will be recording episode seventeenth tonight! until then I figured I would go ahead & catch up with what's been happening as of late because we have a shit tone of new updates for those who are casual listeners or don't pay attention to "what's in the know" (I'm one of those people....all of the time!).

The first order of things in which I actually still haven't been able to implement it yet is set up the upcoming voicemail that we plan on having playing in every future episode of Press Pause Radio in a Voicemail that we hope to catch on in a awesome new segment that will soon be in the works & as well we also be setting up occasional live broadcasts once I get the appropriate software & equipment where Paco & I will be doing a Live segment where we will cover an assortment of different random topics that haven't been done in the podcast or others that we can take the opportunity to touch on & as well special events like the Megaman Gauntlet I made mention of in my personal blog. This i will be known as Press Pause Radio Live which will be announced in subsequent episodes of the Podcast. Next I wanted also cover is that we will also be trying to move forward more with tying to create a community once our listener base picks up & do what we call "PPR Community night". The PPR Community Night will be a game we either just choose ourselves or it'll be a vote by you guys on the Forums, either way it'll be bitchen'. we'll be heading out our first PPR Community Night with Tatsunoko VS Capcom: Ultimate All Stars for The Wii, we'll post our friend codes up soon & every one can meet up with when we have that schedule take place soon enough as the date is still tentative.

The Second big change & much welcome addition is the fourth chair in Press Pause Radio which is Serraxor. You may have heard of him with Bullet Heaven & Casually Hardcore & we have the pleasure of now having being apart of the PPR fold, he's going to bring a lot to the Podcast & we're all honored that he's come aboard. Press Pause Radio is now a four chair traditional Podcast with Varying opinions & different directions to come at you with...It's a sign of things to come with Press Pasue Radio & I couldn't be happier. PPR set out to do one thing when we became a podcast & that was to set ourselves apart from any other Video game based Podcast out on the web & in the positive light when we mean apart from the rest! the line of it's not your Everyday Podcast kind of has the Duality of are sporadic updates of going from Bi-Weekly to monthly to weekly will hopefully end soon & we want to thank all the listeners for baring with our Schedule conflicts but we're all committed to keeping Press Pause Radio going & increasing our voice on being heard! until then Thank you guys, you really are the reason why we do this & giving back to the gamer community this way has been more than fulfilling so far so thanks again & let's move forward to usher in the age of PPR!

"No mustard on my ham sandwich, I want my bike! It's Trials time!" Toast talks about a game that has been released and looked over until now in a segment we like to call Press Pause Radio Retrospective.

It's winter, the time of year where many people living in the Midwest prefer to stay inside and escape the cold and harsh weather. I personally hate and despise winter, even if it is a great time to catch up on games I have missed out on in the past year or so. My friends and I recently had the great pleasure to discover a downloadable game that was released during Xbox 360's Summer of Arcade promotion in 2009. Trials HD is a interesting hybrid of racing and puzzle game, showcasing 3D visuals on a 2D plane. The object of the game is simple; race from the beginning of the course to the finish line as quickly as possible. That is where the simplicity ends, and the insanity and non-stop action truly begins to take shape.

Upon first look it would seem like this title is simply just a motocross racing game, something I have no interest in whatsoever. I now know that Trials HD is more of a physics based puzzle game than anything else, and is what makes the title so enjoyable and accessible to all. During a recent blizzard here in Ohio, myself and a few of my friends decided to play some game trials and Rock Band 2. It's a rarity in this house when the drum set and guitars are not present during a party or get together. On this special night, Trials HD is all we really needed. The trial consists of three levels and one bike, which does not even scratch the surface of the game's 35 track and twelve skill games total. (The Big Pack Expansion also includes additional tracks and Skill Games) My friends in general are not considered to be avid gamers, and with the exception of Rock Band or Wii Sports do not play video games at all. My best friend actually loved playing Trials so much that he offered to pay for the full game so we could play more. I cannot think of a better product endorsement than that. Why does this game appeal to such a broad range of people? I think it's the insane tracks and physics, as well as the competitive nature of the game.

The game supports a friends and online leader-board which will constantly update with your friend's top time and scores, similar to Geometry Wars 2. Seeing this on the screen is a constant reminder that your best run is only a few seconds from what your friend has accomplished, and pushes the player to continue and improve. It even becomes a competition with people in the same room as you, which occurred while we played through all of the different courses and skill games. It was a great feeling to see my friends passing the controller, striving to get the fastest run through a difficult course. The physics also played an important role in that night's festivities, producing several jaw dropping moments when a insane jump was successfully landed or an explosion sent the nameless driver hundreds of feet into the air.

I implore everyone reading to either download the free trial on Xbox Live Arcade, or search on the PC for the free flash games of the original Trials. I cannot recommend this title enough for the next party or snow day you may have.

We here at Press Pause Radio have been taking time to find alternatives for podcast hosting as well as creating a dependable feed for our episodes here on the website. I am happy to report that the episodes now will be posted on the website as soon as they are edited, and also available on our iTunes page. We do apologize for the delay, and appreciate the patience of you, our Press Pause Radio faithful.

So to play catch up with the podcast episodes, I give you episode fourteen of Press Pause Radio. On this episode, the podcast becomes a four man team with the introduction of Serraxor. This gentleman is a excellent addition to the Press Pause Radio crew, and you can find out more about him at his 1up page. It's the first episode of the new year, and we discuss the difficulty in video games. With games such as Mega Man 10 and other retro-revivals on the horizons, we reflect on the good old days of video games. Were the games just that hard when we were kids?
Toast here with your Quarter Circle Forward review for the week of January 10, 2010. I reviewed Bayonetta, a stylish action game for the Xbox 360. You can read the full review below, and if you have any comments about the game, I ask that you leave them here or on our forums. Enjoy!

Platinum Games may be a fairly new developer, however their legacy and pedigree of games is very well known. This team is comprised of men and women responsible for such games as Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe and Okami. The company's latest release is Bayonetta, a sexy and stylized shoot 'em up that may be one of the best games to be released in this current generation of gaming.

The story of Bayonetta can be very convoluted and sometimes hard to follow, with its tale of witches and sages that harness the power of the moon and sun. Bayonetta is a Umbra witch who has been made an outcast by her own clan, losing her memory in the process. Twenty years afterwards, our heroine is trying to piece together her past while battling an angelic horde of heavenly warriors. Bayonetta lays waste to her haloed enemies with some of the best combat ever featured in a video game.

This game features a combat system reminiscent of games such as Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden, only it is improved and more accessible. My personal experience with this genre has never been this enjoyable strictly because of the combat. One move that makes fighting as the long haired bullet witch fun and enjoyable is the dodge. Dodging an enemy attack at the last moment will begin Witch Time, which will allow Bayonetta to dish out large and punishing combos.

Bayonetta's arsenal includes her trusty handguns, as well as guns attached to her high heels. She can also upgrade to other weapons like a katana and gauntlets. Perhaps the most impressive weapon the underworlds hired assassin possesses is her hair. You read that correctly, she can actually use her hair to summon demonic monsters that can destroy everything in her path. Thank you Platinum Games, for designing something this insane!

In conclusion, Bayonetta is the perfect mix of style and substance. The story and characters are completely over the top and the developer is well aware of this fact. The games script even pokes fun at itself numerous times throughout the twelve plus hours the game will take to complete. If you own an Xbox 360, you owe it to yourself to play this game. Its the best action game to be released in years.

Press Pause Radio Episode 13: The Almost Lost Episode

Greetings everyone, welcome to a new year and a new Press Pause Radio! We have many great things lined up to start this year off right including our end of the year podcast, episode thirteen. We at Press Pause Radio got together right before the curtain closed on 2009 to discuss our individual top ten games of the year, as well as what we were looking forward to in the next year.

However releasing this episode was temporarily delayed due to issues with audio compression. The issue of course being that I'm an idiot and do not understand audio compression (this is Toast, by the way just so we all know who to blame). The episode is our longest yet, clocking in at almost three hours of remembrance and reflection on the year that was 2009. Due to the large size of the file, we were unable to release the episode via iTunes.

Therefore we are releasing it exclusively on the website! (hopefully on iTunes eventually, whenever I can learn how to use a computer) Enjoy the episode, and look forward to episode fourteen, where we will introduce the fourth chair of the podcast and discuss the difficulty in video games.

I'm not even going to address just how late this entry is (Fuck...I just did though) Press Pause Radio is coming back into full swing though, & there's no more R&R, we should be recording our end of the year episode before we next record into 2010. I figured that before we go & release a new episode, I figured that I go ahead & release the piece that I have been working on in corraspondance with the comparison I made in episode twelve of Press Pause Radio where we discussed New Super Mario Bros.Wii & I compared it to another game that most people would never expect me find kinship in when place side by side each other.

So who reading this has played Knuckles Chaotix? granted I'm one of the only other three people that I know of that owns a Sega 32X & even then, own a copy of Knuckes Chaotix, also to point out that the game is available on Gametap for those of you that have a Gametap account. Now moving on to the featured info at hand, The biggest common factor between these two games is the Hidden emphasis on Multiplayer where the game is made for a Multiplayer experience even though the game is more than capable of standing on it's own as a Single player experience. Though not grand in such a scale as New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Knuckles Chaotix required Local & I stress to you VOCAL cooperative gameplay as well, whether you were trying to climb vertically across the stage or rubber banding back & forth, just as easily as partner can become your worst enemy in NSMBWii the same if not worse in terms of ultimate betrayal in KC.

The major component that can lead to your success or your doom in Knuckles Chaotix is that you're constantly attached to your Partner, the only point in which you're not attached is if one of you dies, & to those of who didn't know that you can get a negative ring count in Knuckles Chaotix because there is a move that calls your partner to your side at the cost of Ten rings & you'll use this move in the circumstances of either A. you're fellow friend who happens to be playing with gets lost within the game more than a dyslexic Puppy/beached whale hybrid & you must summon the mentally challenged one to your side or B. you would do so pushing the 10 ring cost that you take on your collection of rings into the negative range in which we all should know is the life force of any Sonic the Hedgehog game spin off or not & fun fact if you get -100 rings you will die in the same vain you would earn a life if you gathered a hundred ring you would earn a life (except this game is it had unlimited lives), anyway moving on, you can grab your partner & throw it at a enemy within the game & enjoy seconds of unbound partner less freedom until your partner eventually comes back in a "Tails" like fashion. If you're partner wasn't plotting to kill you, He/She would just simply make any progression within the game difficult to sheer impossibility depending on whether your partner just got stuck in some sort of weird platform nook fucking you up sometimes in the process as you hang helplessly until you push the "A" button to stop the madness or the butt hole partner ends up going the opposite way keeping you dead center with no progression yet again.

Now let us compare. In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, you can pick up any of your partners for any reason you see fit in some pointless attempt to Justify it, you throw Him/Her into a bottomless or something lethal otherwise. A carefully planned jump can be thwarted by your ill-chosen partner as He/She uses your skull as a Mid-Air stepping stone & get's the extra off of your potentially doomed plummet to shit storm that may lay below you, a Koopa-Troopa shell to the face or Bobomb up the asshole only strengthens the hatred that will boil between you. Now will I go over the contrasts, no, not at all. These games are obviously incredibly different just by mere side by side visual comparison. My goal was to find the incredible similarities that these two games, that are over a decade apart in terms of age, brought about the same Positive & negative feeling that I have harbored in Cooperative-centric gameplay. so what do you guys think? comment on the Blog or post any opinions you may have on the Forums on www.presspauseradio.com & to re-iterate once more....Fuck Alien Soldier so.....much.
